This is the information page for the Alcheringa Webring. Any site may join which has content suitable to the topic and aim of the Alcheringa Webring. That means that your site should be about Australian native lore. Suitable topics would include, but are not limited to :
Australian history, as long as it includes the history of the original inhabitants
Koorie traditional culture
Koorie art & craft
Traditional Australian bushlore, medicines, food, etc
Koorie community groups, health, welfare, etc.
Traditional stories
Research sites
Commercial sites, or sites with some commercial content, will be allowed provided that they have information that will contribute to the aim of this webring - to make Koorie culture and issues more widely known, and easy to find. To apply for addition to the Alcheringa ring :
Go here: http://dir.webring.com/ This is the Webring page. You will need to locate the Alcheringa webring by typing it into the search box.
Once you have done that it should be pretty straight forward. You will need to place the Webring navigation bar HTML on your site and the rest will be taken care of.
Yahoo! made a mess of Webring when it bought it out a few years ago, but since it's been dumped by Yahoo! and moved on to another company things should pick up again.
The navigation bar should either be on your main page, or on another indicated page.
I hope that I don't have to tell anyone that this webring and this site does not promote prejudice and ignorance, nor any site that does.
